Dr. Iva Poláčková Šolcová is a psychologist and an Associate Professor in the field of Social Psychology. She is one of the leading figures in Czech psychology, particularly in the research of emotions and their development within both individual and social-psychological contexts. Her research focuses on studying the development of emotions and fundamental psychological needs across various stages of human life. She investigates the mechanisms and processes that create, construct, and interpret human emotions and needs.
Dr. Poláčková Šolcová is the author of numerous scientific publications, including monographs and research articles published in prestigious national and international journals. In addition to her role at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University, she also works at the Institute of Psychology of the Czech Academy of Sciences and collaborates with the Institute for Social Health at Palacký University in Olomouc. At Charles University, she teaches at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. In the TVP study program, she is primarily responsible for courses in social psychology, research ethics, methodology, and health psychology.
